The Great Divide:
- The Gentiles (11-12): Far from God, his purposes & privileges, and his people
- The Jews: near to God - they are his people, partners in his purposes & privileges
- These differences led to hostility (though they didn’t need to!)
One Family in Jesus the Messiah:
- On the cross, Jesus destroyed the barrier dividing them (14)
- On the cross Jesus put to death their hostility toward each other (16)
- On the cross, Jesus reconciled both to God (15)

- It all happens in Christ
- The cross is still the power of God to bring peace today
