A Platform for the Good News

Good works provides a better platform for sharing the good news

• Good works create goodwill that will earn a hearing for the gospel (1 Thes. 2.1-4, 8-12) 
  
  
• We are all more likely to listen to and be persuaded by people we like and admire
  
• Good works make us credible witnesses (1 Thes. 2.1-4, 8-12) 
  
  
• When Paul wants to establish his credibility, he points to his life
  
  
• Third, and finally, good works make the message of the gospel harder to dismiss (Mt. 11.4-6) 
  
  
• In a fallen world, good works cry out for an explanation

If we knew Jesus might return at any moment, how would we live? We would want him to catch us doing good!
