Scripture: Luke 4:1–14

Three temptations:

  • Meet a legitimate need in an illegitimate vv. 3-4
  • Pursue the right thing in the wrong way. 5-8
  • Presume and assume upon God. 9-12

Two Strategies to help us have victory over temptation.

  • Be in and know God’s Word. 4, 8, 12
  • Walk in God’s Spirit. 1, 14 

Take Home Idea:  We can, like Jesus, overcome temptation, through dependence upon God’s Word and God’s Spirit.
