Open Door?
Colossians 4:2-4
Two actions:
- Speak to God about your lost friends.
- Speak to your lost friends about God.
Take home idea: Take a risk to check doors.
"Open Door?" Small Group Questions
Colossians 4:2-4
Opening:
In high school, who were two of your best friends? What was one quality about them that stands out to you?
Review Pastor Joel's sermon and Take Home Idea. What struck you about the sermon?
What do you have questions about?
Dig:
In advancing the gospel, what role is played by prayer?
What three qualities did Paul list as essential for this type of prayer for lost friends? How do each of them connect to praying for someone who is far from God?
In advancing the gospel, what role does speaking and sharing the gospel play?
What two things does Paul ask for as he proclaims the gospel? Why do you think he asks for those things?
When Paul is praying for an “open door for our message”, what is he praying for?
Pastor Joel shared three methods of sharing the gospel on Sunday morning. Which one have you used? Which one would you find easier to use? Is there another method you prefer?
Reflect:
Choose one of the three methods Pastor Joel shared and practice it on one other person in your group. What did you struggle with? What went well?
Have you made the commitment to have one meal a month with a person who is far from God? If so, who and how are you doing? If not, what is preventing you from taking that risk?
Close this time sharing and praying together as a group.
