Work is More Than a Curse

Genesis 1:26-29; 2:15; 3:17-19

In the Beginning:

   • God is a worker. Gen. 1, 2:1-3

  
   • God created us in His image as workers. Gen. 1:26-28

  
   • Work is to be an act of God-honoring worship. Gen. 2:15

After the Curse:

   • Work has become difficult. Gen. 3:17-19

   • Work has become distorted.

          o Workaholism Luke 12:13-21

          o Slothfulness Proverbs 20:4; 1 Thess. 4:11

Take Home Idea: To thrive at our jobs, we are going to need to develop a hopeful realism about work.
