Created to Create
Every second Tuesday of every month until June 9, 2026
6:00pm – 8:00pm
Room 103, First Free Church View Map
Coordinator: Gayle Gilman
This February we will be breaking out the sets of colored pencils & talk a little about color theory & schemes. The project will involve learning pencil control to create values & color mixing by overlapping colors to play around with color & design. What better time to do that than winter!
- March we will revisit bookmaking by making booklets that incorporate collage & stamping for a Spring Fling project since everyone had such a great time doing bookmaking with Dan.
- April we will pull out the canvasses for paintings that will challenge us with creating textures.
- May is a good time to paint some watercolor gardens & really jump into the season.
- June brings our expertise to lend a hand with VBC to create an “alternate universe” in which to share the gospel with children & create a memorable experience for them.
Because we are all made in the image of God, we are designed to create beautiful things in the world. At First Free, we value the arts and creativity as a vital expression of worship. The goal of Created to Create—led by Gayle Gilman and Marlene Maloney—is to help people in our community exercise their creative potential and develop their artistic skills. Monthly art classes for anyone from children (able to follow directions & work independently with some assistance) through adulthood are available on Tuesdays, from 6–8 p.m.
