Jonah’s Mission: Jonah does the bare minimum to comply with God’s command (3.4).
Nineveh’s Response to God: The people of Nineveh trusted God and turned back (shuv) from their evil ways and violence (3.5-9).
God’s Response to Nineveh: God sees their actions and turns back (shuv) from the punishment he had planned (3.10).

- We all depend upon the mercy of God for life and salvation.
