Work and School

Speaker: Paul Anleitner Series: Every Moment Holy Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:9–12, 2 Thessalonians 3:6–13

While some are called to do things that seem history-making, leading a simple life, doing honest work, and caring for your family is equally the Lord’s work.

To not be an unnecessary burden on others and to produce things for the peace, health, and well-being of others is doing good, and it is holy.

Shalom means: wholeness, completeness, flourishing, and things working the way they were designed to work.

Discussion Questions

  1. Where do you feel called to bring shalom in your work?
  2. In what ways do some of our common cultural messages around work and school distort God’s purposes for those things?
