Food & Fellowship
Speaker: Jay Pound Series: Every Moment Holy Scripture: Romans 14:1– 16:4, Romans 14:13–18
What does it look like to put keeping faith with Jesus at the center of food & fellowship?
- Accepting one another across social and cultural boundaries just as Christ accepted you (Rm. 14.3-4; 15.7-9).
- Extending grace to one another, as Jesus is gracious with all us (14.13-15).
- God’s new covenant people are characterized not by their diet, but by bearing with one another out of fealty to Jesus (14.13-18).
- This is serving Christ! (14.18).
- Responding with gratitude & joy to what God has done for us and in our midst (Lk. 15).
Putting Jesus at the center of food & Fellowship looks like joyfully prioritizing his family over our personal preferences & freedoms.
Discussion Questions
- What are the cultural boundaries that divide fellowship in our society today? How does welcoming believers across those lines testify to the Lordship of Jesus?
- We celebrate what we value. How might we incorporate the regular celebration of God’s work into our daily lives?
