The Marriage of Heaven & Earth
Speaker: Jay Pound Series: Unveiled: the Apocalypse of John Scripture: Revelation 21:1– 22:5
- Nothing will threaten our enjoyment of God’s presence or separate us from his love (21.1-8).
- From the very beginning to the very end, God’s purpose and desire was to dwell among us (Gn. 3.8; Jn. 1.14; Rv. 21.3).
- This is the fulfillment of Eden, the temple and the incarnation: the Holy of Holies has now swallowed up all creation (Ex. 26.15-16; 1 Kings 6.16; Rv. 21.16).
- Nothing will hinder our participation in God’s work or enjoyment of his creation (22.1-5)
- New creation is a place of purpose and partnership (21.24; 22.3)
- Like the original creation, new creation is for our enjoyment and God’s glory.
Application: This future is not wishful thinking, it is the inevitable consequence of Jesus' victory on the cross (Rv. 5. 9-14; 22.12-13).
