What Does the Healing of the World Look Like?
Speaker: Paul Anleitner Series: How God Became King Scripture: Matthew 13:24–50
The Kingdom slowly grows amidst opposition, but that opposition won’t last forever.
- The Kingdom starts small but increasingly grows.
- The Kingdom is so good that it is worth it all.
- The Kingdom will bring a reckoning.
Journaling Prompt
Reflect on a time in your life when you wanted quick solutions to a problem but later realized that slow and steady growth was what God was working in you.
Discussion Questions
- What are some ways in which we, like George Washington’s doctors, might be trying to heal the world using the wrong methods? How can we discern whether our approach aligns with the Kingdom of God?
- Jesus describes the Kingdom of God as something that starts small and grows over time. Can you think of examples in your own life or in history where something that seemed insignificant at first had a major impact? How does this challenge our usual ways of measuring success?
