- Paul: Having begun by faith and the Spirit, keep living by faith and the Spirit (1-3)
- “Circumcision Party:” Live as God’s people always have, through obedience to the Law
Paul’s Arguments
- You received the Holy Spirit by faith, not works of the law (2, 14)
- Abraham lived by faith, so those who live by faith are Abraham’s true heirs (7-9)
- Anyone who lives by the Law is obligated to keep ALL of it - and none of us can (10-14)
Take Home Ideas:
- God is not finished with us once we join his family (3.3)
- If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit (5.25)
