December 30, 2018 Series: First Free Church Sermons

Scripture: James 1:21–25

We are often comfortable with and excuse dissonance in ourselves.

Dissonance creates a gap between reality and imagination. That gap is called “compromise”. V. 24

So how do we close the gap on personal dissonance within ourselves? V. 25

  • Recognize and Own Responsibility for Your Dissonance

  • Become Brutally Honest about Reality

  • Prioritize Your Own Spiritual & Personal Growth

Take Home Idea: Only you can fix the compromising gap between what you wish was true about you and what the mirror is actually telling you.
