The Peace-Bearer

Speaker: Joel Sutton Series: The Promise of Better Days Scripture: Micah 4:9– 5:5a

Peace:  Shalom

The present darkness - “Now”.  4:9, 10, 11, 5:1

God’s promise of shalom - “But”.  4:12, 5:2

His peace-bearer will be a person.

His peace-bearer will come quietly.

His peace-bearer will be David-like.

God’s shalom has come in Jesus Christ.  Luke 1:78-79; 2:14.

Implications:

  1. The peace that Jesus brought starts in my heart.
  2. We continue to live in hope

Take Home Idea:  Jesus, the child born in Bethlehem, is our promised peace-bearer.
