The present darkness - “Now”. 4:9, 10, 11, 5:1
God’s promise of shalom - “But”. 4:12, 5:2
His peace-bearer will be a person.
His peace-bearer will come quietly.
His peace-bearer will be David-like.
God’s shalom has come in Jesus Christ. Luke 1:78-79; 2:14.
Implications:
- The peace that Jesus brought starts in my heart.
- We continue to live in hope.
Take Home Idea: Jesus, the child born in Bethlehem, is our promised peace-bearer.
