A Recipe for Discouragement (1 Kings 19)

• Elijah feels discouraged, alone and a failure. He is ready to quit (19.4, 10).

God Rescues Elijah from Discouragement: 4 Observations

1. God does NOT immediately change Elijah’s circumstances
2. God is present with Elijah (19.11-13)
3. God restores Elijah’s vocation (19.15-16)
4. God enlarges Elijah’s perspective (19. 15-18)
