3 Habits of Wise Parents
1 Thessalonians 2:7-12
Scripture does not provide guarantees, but it does provide wisdom for parents.
A Preliminary Point: If possible, parent together; either way, trust in God
3 Habits of Wise Parents
- Set the example
- Live a life that begs the kind of questions to which Jesus is the answer (N.T. Wright)
- Leverage your advantage: Your children want to be like you
- Charge them to follow
- Observe the gifts and abilities God has given them
- Call them to develop and use those gifts for God’s Kingdom
- Cheer them on!
- Encourage them when they fall short; celebrate with them when they succeed
Take Home Idea: Wise parents will set the example for their children, then charge them to follow and cheer them on as they do.
