What Thomas Missed

John 20:24-29

What did Thomas miss? Faith that put down roots (24-25)

  • He refused to hope
  • He refused to gather with those who do
  • He had become cynical

What Thomas Found: faith rooted in fact (26-29)

  • Thomas, like the others, finds:
    • An empty tomb
    • Discarded grave clothes
    • The eyewitness testimony of many others
    • And of course...
  • The risen and victorious Christ, literally in the flesh (27)

Take Home Idea: Like Thomas, we should put down roots in the person of Jesus and the fact of his resurrection so that we will have a faith that can survive the trials of life.
