Join the Good Neighbor Team!
Are you feeling God calling you to get involved and serve? Would you like to make some new friends? Here's an opportunity to do both. We are putting together a new Good Neighbor Team, and you're invited to be part of it!
The Good Neighbor Team is First Free's ministry to refugees and immigrants who live right here in our neighborhood. Here's how it works: We partner with a Christian nonprofit called Arrive Ministries, which connects our team to a newly arrived family. The members of the team visit the family (usually once a month), serve as a resource to help them get adjusted to living in America, and mostly just spend time getting to know them and being their friend. We get to show them the love of Christ—and model what that looks like—in a tangible, real-life way. The chance to befriend these families, hear their stories, and be inspired by them is amazing. As residential missionaries, we can reach people from all over the world right in our neighborhood—they are coming to us.
There is a new family arriving in January and we are putting together our team now! You don't need to have any experience, just a welcoming smile. Arrive Ministries provides excellent cross-cultural training. If you're interested in learning more about this ministry, contact David McCoy: mccoy.david.william@gmail.com
