Biography/Description of Ministry
G.P. and Nancy have served with Campus Crusade for Christ since 1966 and 1970, respectively. G.P. graduated from Georgia Tech, where he came to know the Lord, and Nancy graduated from the U of Minnesota after attending Bethel for 2 years. She is from St. Cloud and he is originally from Atlanta. They met in Minnesota and worked with high school students here in the Twin Cities. Some of their students were also from member families of First Free. G. P. was baptized in this church.
The Footes left Minneapolis in February of 1972 for a short-term assignment in Dallas with Explo '72. From there they were assigned to Des Moines, Iowa, again working with high schoolers. In 1975 they were reassigned to Ames to minister to students at Iowa State University. Three years later their ministry emphasis shifted to international students.
G.P. is currently the international liaison for Bridges International. Bridges international is the name of the ministry to international students as a part of Campus Crusade for Christ. GP connects with people working outside the U.S. who are ministering to international students. Also, a part of their time is involved in leading teams of American students on short-term missions to international students in Birmingham, England. For 16 years the Foote’s did this same short-term mission trip to Paris France.
Nancy is the administrator of conversational English classes for internationals in Ames. There are now 50-75 students from 15 countries. This is a collaborative venture with I.S.I., Crusade and the First Evangelical Free Church of Ames. Besides class times there are social events to reach beyond the students to their whole families.
All four Foote children are married. GP and Nancy have five grandchildren.
God has enriched their lives through their ministry and involvement with the Ames Free Church. Serving in various ways over the years have given them the opportunity to be a blessing to others.
Thank you First Free of Minneapolis for keeping us in your prayers and budget these many years.
