3. Be honest with your feelings. vv. 7-10

4. Trust in the truth of Scripture over your feelings. vv. 11-12.

5. Wait patiently. vv. 13-14

“Faith Under Fire” Small Group Questions

Psalm 27

Opening:

If you could ask “one thing” of the Lord, and have it granted, what would it be?

Review Pastor Joel's sermon and Take Home Idea. What struck you about the sermon?

What do you have questions about?

Dig:

What three character qualities of God does David recall in v. 1? What do you think he means by each? How do each relate to David’s confidence in vv. 2-3?

What is David’s deepest desire (vv. 4, 8)? What does it mean to seek God’s face?

What is David counting on happening as a result of his seeking the Lord? (vv. 5-6)

Why do you think there is such drastic change in tone from vv. 1-6 to vv. 7-10? How is

David expressing his honest feelings?

What do you think is the “goodness” David is confident he will see (v. 13)? How does that affect his waiting?

What is the relationship between “seeking” and “waiting” for God?

Reflect:

How has the Lord been like a “light” or “stronghold” in your life this past month?

What have you done to “seek” God’s face above all else?

Close this time sharing and praying together as a group.
