First Evangelical Free Church - Where the Difference is...The Relationship!
Prayer

Prayer is our lifeline to God and is essential in recognizing what God is doing around us and wants to do through us.

There are many different types of prayers: worship, thanksgiving, confession, or praise. We believe that all forms of prayer demonstrate God's rightful superiority and our need for His presence in our lives.

We believe that prayer does not alter God's mind (He is sovereign) -- rather it helps align us with God's perfect will. Every believer needs to stay connected to God and prayer is essential to maintaining and growing our relationship with Him.

We believe that the Holy Spirit's presence in our lives encourages us to pray to God in order to build our relationship to Him, understand His purposes, and then to obediently follow His leading.

We follow the example of the apostles in the book of Acts where the believers individually and corporately worshiped and prayed -- seeking God's guidance in all areas.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land. [2 Chronicles 7:14]"

A Thought From God's Word:
Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 18:4]
