Prayer Focus: Exalting God In Worship

October 19, 2003

  • Pray that our praise and worship will rise as a sweet fragrance to our Lord.
  • Pray that everyone in our congregation would grow in their love for God - with all their heart, soul, and mind.
  • Pray that we will develop a deeper desire to worship and magnify the Lord.
  • Pray that each person in our church will be challenged to grow spiritually and will experience God's plan for living the transformed life.
  • Pray that those who are discouraged would be encouraged by a new understanding of their life purposes.
  • Pray that the got purpose? campaign will inspire a commitment by each person to move from a self-focused life to a God-focused life.

"Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together." [Psalm 34:3 (NIV)]

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." [Romans 12:1 & 2 (NIV)]

A Thought From God's Word:
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. [Colossians 3:15-17]
