Prayer Ministry Updates

April 28, 2000

Dear Family Member,

The month of April is almost ended and we include this insert to report back to you what has happened with the prayer ministry at our church since last month’s letter. God is answering our prayers—yours, the prayer committee’s, and even those of a group of handicapped seniors who pray for our church.

Join us in praise! Just think!

  • The week before Easter the number of people meeting that week SPECIFICALLY TO PRAY, came to about 50!
  • As a result of a special request from a group who were not able to attend other meetings for prayer, a new group started meeting in the library on Sundays at 11:00 AM to pray!
  • Our church leadership retreat and special congregational meeting had excellent attendance, good attitudes, free discussion, and no evidence of discouragement!
  • A vigorous response from the congregation to the need for youth workers, including youth Sunday school teachers was reported. New people have come forward to help with the youth program, as well!
  • Speakers for the month of May have already been arranged!
  • Attendance at the Sunday noon meeting for prayer has been stable at about 35-40!
  • It is clear our leaders are working very hard, and God’s blessing seems to be on their efforts!

It appears that we will be continuing all three prayer meetings (Wednesday evening and Sunday at 11:00 AM and Noon).

As you pray personally, and as families, do continue to intercede for our church and for a spirit of prayer to increasingly permeate all that we do.

Bob Chapman, Prayer Coordinator

P.S. Don’t miss the video "A House of Prayer" on May 7 at 11:00 AM.
