Facts to Face:

• My inability to curb my disobedience. (v. 14)

• My inability to fulfill my own wishes. (vv. 15, 18-19)

• My sin nature is alive. (vv. 17-18)

Emotions as a Result:

• Confusion. (v. 15)

• Frustration. (vv. 18-19)

Conclusions to be Drawn:

• There is a civil war in the Christian's soul. (vv. 21-23)

• When we try to fight sin in the flesh, we lose. (v. 24)

• Christ alone can give victory. (v. 25)

Take Home Idea: On your own you lose, but through Christ there is the hope of victory.
