Jesus is urging us to pray.

  • Be Persistent vv. 7-8

  • Be Confident

    • God answers our prayers. vv. 7-8

    • God will give us what we need. vv. 9-10

    • God will give us good gifts. vs. 11

Jesus is urging us to ask for the character of the kingdom in our lives.

Jesus is urging those who are children of the Father to pray.

Take Home Idea: We can persist in our prayers in the confidence that the one who responds to our asking, who reveals himself in our seeking, and who opens his heart to our knocking is a Father to us.

A Thought From God's Word:
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. [Ephesians 1:17-19a]
