The Pleasure of the Peacemakers Matthew 5:9 Pastor Joel Sutton, Series: The Great Reversal Sunday, March 9, 2008
God is in the peacemaking business. "For He (Christ) himself is our peace, who made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility. . . . His purpose was to create himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace." Ephesians 2:14-15 ". . . through Christ God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood." Colossians 1:20
As God's sons, we are expected to work in our Father's peacemaking business.
When we work in our Father's peacemaking business . . . . . . we will actively pursue reconciliation with family and with others. . . . we will sacrifice for peace. . . . we will work at reconciling people of God.
