What Happiness is Not:

  • Right circumstances
  • Abundant material possessions
  • When I feel good

 

4 Questions about the Beatitudes

What are the beatitudes?

  • Theme: Kingdom of Heaven.
  • Eight character qualities.

 

What does the pronouncement "Blessed" mean?

  • To be approved of by God.

 

What is the nature of this blessing?

  • The blessings are spiritual.
  • They are now and in the future.

 

Who is it that is blessed?

  • Those who are citizens of the Kingdom.

 

  

Take Home Idea: True happiness will find us when we pursue first the kingdom of God.
