40 Days of Purpose: #5, Evangelism
Have you ever wondered, "When a person becomes a Christian, why doesn't God just take them on to heaven?" The answer is that God has an assignment for each of us; you were made for a mission. Come back next week and explore the only purpose we can't do in heaven!

- NEWS & NOTES -
Bud (or Vernon) Anderson will be sharing his testimony with us during the worship service this morning.
Bud has been married to Beda for 60 years and has been a Christian for as long as he can remember. Bud currently serves on the Outreach Commission and served as a missionary to Venezuela from 1950-1966. He also teaches English to Hispanic women through the Salem Free Church.

Today is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. A special insert on the persecuted church is available in this week's Prayer Guide located on the tables in the foyer.

You are invited to a special Clarinet Recital given by our own Jerry McDonald on Monday, November 18, 7:30 PM, at Lloyd Ultan Recital Hall inside Ferguson Hall at the U of MN.

Ralph & Estella Roberts want to say Thank You to everyone at First Free for their prayers and caring during Ralph's recent hospital stay. This was very strongly appreciated.

A Bridal Shower
will be held for Susan Mondy today, November 10th, at 3:00 PM. Susan is registered at Marshall Fields, Crate & Barrel, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and at Sears.

The Council
will meet Monday, November 11, 7:00 PM, at Ross Olson's home. Don't miss the Quarterly Business Meeting on Tuesday, November 12, at 7:30 PM.

A Thought From God's Word:
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? Who has understood the mind of the Lord, or instructed him as his counselor? Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of understanding? [Isaiah 40:12-14]
