40 Days of Purpose: #5, Evangelism
Have you ever wondered, "When a person becomes a
Christian, why doesn't God just take them on to heaven?" The
answer is that God has an assignment for each of us; you were
made for a mission. Come back next week and explore the only
purpose we can't do in heaven!
- NEWS & NOTES -
Bud (or Vernon) Anderson will be sharing
his testimony with us during the worship service this morning.
Bud has been married to Beda for 60 years and has been a Christian
for as long as he can remember. Bud currently serves on the Outreach
Commission and served as a missionary to Venezuela from 1950-1966. He
also teaches English to Hispanic women through the Salem Free
Church.
Today is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted
Church. A special insert on the persecuted church is
available in this week's Prayer Guide located on the tables in the
foyer.
You are invited to a special Clarinet Recital given by our own
Jerry McDonald on Monday, November 18, 7:30 PM, at Lloyd Ultan Recital
Hall inside Ferguson Hall at the U of MN.
Ralph & Estella Roberts want to say Thank You to
everyone at First Free for their prayers and caring during Ralph's
recent hospital stay. This was very strongly appreciated.
A Bridal Shower will be held for Susan Mondy today,
November 10th, at 3:00 PM. Susan is registered at Marshall
Fields, Crate & Barrel, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and at Sears.
The Council will meet Monday, November 11, 7:00 PM, at Ross
Olson's home. Don't miss the Quarterly Business Meeting on
Tuesday, November 12, at 7:30 PM.
You are invited to an open house for Jim & Patty Rodine's
50th Wedding Anniversary. It will be held on Sunday,
November 10th, at Lakewood Free Church, 2600 East County
Road E., White Bear Lake, from 2:00-5:00 PM.
Choir Rehearsals will be meeting Tuesdays, 6:45-8:00 PM, until
the concert on Sunday, December 15. Please arrive at 6:45 and be ready
for warm-ups by 6:50 PM. Worship Ensemble will meet from 8:15-9:00 on
Tuesday evenings.
Sojourner's Class Christmas Social will be held on Saturday,
December 7th. Meet at church at 10:00 AM. We will take the
van to Goldenman's Christmas Tree Farm in Zimmerman. If you have
questions, call Lori Peterson at (612) 722-9793.
