What on Earth Am I Here For? (Verse 1)
For we are God's workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
- NEWS & NOTES -
We're off and running with the 40 Days of Purpose
Campaign! Memorize your verse this week, start in a
Purpose-Driven Life Sunday School Class, and read the first seven
daily readings in The Purpose Driven Life book. Then
next week come back to hear about the first purpose, and perhaps the
most revolutionary one, Worship. Worship may be the most misunderstood
word in the Church. Come next week to hear what God has to say on
this!
Attention retirees, students, men or women - anyone free on
Wednesday mornings (especially in October and November) we need you!
Would you be willing to help some young moms attend Bible Study by
helping care for their children in the nursery? Please contact Marilyn
Fisher at (612) 724-9311 if you can help.
The Dinner & a Movie Outreach will be held Monday, October
21, at 5:45 PM. One or two volunteers are needed the day of the event
for a few hours between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and several more are needed
to help with clean up. Contact: Rose Hecker.
Choir Rehearsal will begin Tuesday, October 22, 7:00-8:00 PM.
Rehearsals will be weekly until the final production on Sunday,
December 15. Please arrive at 6:45 and be ready to sing by 7:00.
Worship Ensemble will meet from 8:15-9:00 Tuesday evenings.
Chaim Class Social, Saturday, October 26, 12:30 PM meet at
church. They will be going to Emma Krumbees Apple Orchard. The cost is
$3 per person and children under 2 are free. If you have questions,
contact Vanessa Beckett at (612) 721-6885.
Become a world Christian here and now, and find out how to
build friendships and effectively communicate the gospel with
international students/scholars on Twin City campuses. International
Students, Inc. (ISI) is sponsoring a workshop on October 19, 2-5 PM,
at Ebenezer Evangelical Lutheran Brethren Church, 41st St
& Cedar Avenue. The cost is $10 for materials. To register,
contact Linda Leonard at (612) 722-0918.
The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is
scheduled for Sunday, November 10th. If you would like more
information on how to pray or ideas on how you can help, check out
