The Seniors' ABF will be serving anniversary cake during the Fellowship Time this morning in honor of the following September Wedding Anniversaries in their class:

All orchestra members please meet today at 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary for a briefing on the upcoming orchestra season.

Small Groups: You can still sign up to be part of a small group by filling out a Small Group Registration Form at the Welcome Center and giving it to the person there.

Boys Brigade (1-6) will go to Lake Nokomis on Wednesday, October 3rd. Parents, please complete a permission slip!

Guest Luncheon: We are pleased that you have begun worshipping with us at First Free, and we would like to get to know you better. You are invited to a Guest Luncheon on Sunday, October 7, at 12:15 PM in Room #105. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Cindy Sawyer at (612) 827-4705.

Women's Guild Potluck Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, October 2, at 12:00 Noon. Our guest speaker will be Diane C_______, who will speak about her work in China.

Would you like to learn how to reach out to or make friends with a Muslim person? An elective class to help you share Jesus Christ will start Sunday, October 7, at 9:30 AM. Questions or to sign up, see Joy Fleming at Welcome Center.

101 Class: Exploring Church Membership will be held on Sunday, October 14, from 4 - 8 PM. Dinner will be provided. If you would like to attend, mark your Welcome Card.

Outreach Weekend is set for October 20th & 21st. A dessert for Jim Grosz will be held Saturday evening at 7 PM. Jim will also be preaching during the Sunday morning services. Tom & Mary Bussard and G.P. & Nancy Foote will speak at ABF's.

The Dominican Republic Mission Team will be leaving on October 27th to help build the orphanage there. They need your prayers and financial support. You can help by giving to the church offering and marking your check, DR Trip.

The Twin Cities Marathon is on the horizon for Sunday, October 7th so allow extra time to get to church that day.

Congratulations to John & Maria Cain, proud parents of Coralee Addison Cain, born on September 19th. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. and is 21 inches long.

Sam Rotman

 

Who:     Sam Rotman, a classical pianist and a graduate of Julliard School in New York City, has given over 1500 recitals across the US, Canada, Europe, Russia, and South America. He has released 4 recordings and a video.

What:     His concerts include several elements. Besides a full program of classical music, Sam takes a few moments to explain the music to enhance the listener's appreciation. He also shares his testimony of God's salvation to him in Jesus Christ, and the relationship between Christianity and the fine arts.

The cost is FREE.

  • This is a great event to invite friends, neighbors and relatives.
  • A coffee and dessert reception will follow the concert, along with an informal time to speak to the artist and buy recordings.

Adult Fall Gathering: The Agape Class invites Sojourners, Life, Makarios and Metamorphosis ABF's to a Fall Gathering for adults on Friday, September 21, 7:00 PM, in the gym. Wear denims and soft shoes and come for food, music, and door prizes. A donation of $3 will be appreciated and please bring a snack to share. Bibles for Kindergarteners: Pastor Joel will present Bibles to kids entering kindergarten this morning at 10:45 in the gym. Parents of kindergartners, please plan to attend.

Commissions and F & P Board will meet tonight at 5:30 PM. The Council Meeting will follow at 7:30.

Campbell Soup Labels for Compassion Ministries (now a part of EFCA TouchGlobal): The Women's Guild is still collecting soup labels. The money collected will go toward the purchase of a van to be used in Africa. Please drop off your labels at the Welcome Center.
