We warmly welcome Doug & Cheryl Conrad, missionaries with EFCA ReachGlobal in Japan, who are speaking during our service, and Dave & Jul Stone, missionaries with Bethany International, who are speaking during the Seniors ABF today.

Costa Rica Youth Mission Trip: Continue to pray for those going to Costa Rica from July 30 - August 8th.
Leaders are: Mark & Melinda Meyers and Chad Hollinbeck Students are: Luke Amstutz, Kimisha Collins, J.G. Ferguson, Ryan Friesen, and Ingrid Vatsaas.

Agape Picnic & Concert is planned for today, July 29, at 1:00 pm, at Lake Harriet Picnic Grounds near the bandstand. Bring lawn chairs, drinks for your family and a dish to share.

A one-week mission trip is being planned to Constansza, DR, beginning October 27, 2007. We will help with more building on the orphanage there.  You can see it at www.kidsalive.org. If you wish to go, please contact John Symington at (952) 835-1387 or at jsymington {at} earthlink.net. If you think you might, but are not sure yet, begin the passport application process. You will need a passport, and it takes several weeks/months!

Congratulations to Jeff & Rachel Olson, proud parents of Helen Grace ZhanAn Olson who "arrived" on July 15 in China. Continue to pray for a smooth transition and safe travels.

Picnic in the Park: Thursday, July 26, is the Hale Page Diamond Lake annual Picnic in the Park. It's a great family event with food, music, games and reps from community businesses and services. First Free has a history of a fun table with great giveaways to build awareness in our community. We invite you and/or your family to take an hour shift at our tent space (5:30-8:30 PM) while chatting with your friends and neighbors! To be part of this fun night, call or email Jill Rose at (612) 501-1198 or rosewerks {at} comcast.net.

Congratulations to Peter & Jessica McWilliams, proud parents of Molly Anne who was born on June 29th. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 7 oz. Mom and baby are doing well.

Sojourners Social: Come join the fun at Lake Harriet on Saturday, July 14, 4:00 PM to whenever. We'll meet at the beach on the north end of the lake to swim and play in the sand so bring your beach toys. We'll have a picnic At 5:30. Please bring lawn chairs and food just for your own family.

Lake Baptisms & Church Picnic

Sunday, August 12

  • Everyone is welcome to the church picnic following the baptisms at the west beach of Lake Nokomis.
  • Families with last names beginning with A-P, bring a salad to share in a cooler. Families with names R-Z, bring a dessert to share. Meat, beverage, and eating utensils are provided.
  • Everyone bring blankets or lawn chairs.
