Women's Guild will meet at 1:00 PM on September 6. Our speaker will be Diane C__________ [[name removed]]. All ladies are welcome!

A Bridal Shower for Heather Weinand will be held at Carrie Boyum's home on Wednesday, September 7, from 7-9:00 PM. Heather is registered at Kohl's and Bed, Bath & Beyond. If you plan to attend, RSVP to Vanessa Beckett.

Women's Neighborhood Bible Study begins on Wednesday, September 14, at 9:30 AM. We will be studying the book of Hebrews. A great program for children ages infant to 5 years will be provided. Invite your friends!

2ND Annual Chaim Family Getaway: Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18, at Scott & Vanessa Beckett's family cabin in Alexandria, Minnesota. The cost is $50 per couple or family and $25 per single individual. This cost includes cabin usage, food, beverages, gas for boats, etc. What to bring: personal items, sleeping bags and pillows, towels and wash cloths, tent, fishing gear, and lawn chairs. Choir Begins a new season with a get-together and practice on Tuesday, September 20, at 6:45 PM. More details will be coming. If you did not sing in the choir last year but would like to, please contact Rick Olson.

  • MOPS will take place every 1st & 3rd Friday of the month from 9:15 - 11:30 am, starting September 16.
  • The cost is $45 per semester. Child care will be provided.

Laura Snyder will be commissioned this morning as she prepares to leave for Halesown, England, on August 20 to begin her missionary work with Operation Mobilization.

We rejoice with Heather Weinand (new member of First Free and fiancée of Rocky DeWall) and Amy Larson (daughter of Keith & Cindy Larson) who will be baptized today at Lake Nokomis.

Thank you for the outpouring of love and support you gave us during Jerry's illness and death. The visits, calls, cards, and flowers were appreciated, and your prayers upheld us. Special thanks to the serving committee. We are blessed to be a part of God's family here. ~The Fisher Family

Tabernacle Model: The 5th & 6th graders have been studying and building a model of the Tabernacle. Please come see their model in the gym this morning and ask this group some questions about what they've learned!

Youth Mission Reports Today: All Adult ABF Classes will combine to hear reports from the youth regarding their mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Sault Ste. Marie.

Commissions will meet at 5:00 PM tonight, except for Outreach. Commissions and Council will combine from 7:00-7:30 PM, and Council will meet alone at 7:30 PM.

The Quarterly Business Meeting will be held on Monday, August 8, at 7:00 PM.

Sojourner's Social: We will be gathering at the Black Forest Inn, 1 E 26 St, in Minneapolis on Saturday, August 13, at 7:00 PM for great food and fellowship. For further information, contact Lori Peterson at (612) 722-9793.

Sam Song is in China and has emailed prayer requests for August. Please pick up the new sheets in the foyer. The prayer committee appreciates your prayer support for Sam, Susan, and Cicy, and the work they are doing to start a Christian University in China.

Lake Baptisms & Church Picnic

Sunday, August 14

  • No fellowship time, Adult Bible Fellowships, prayer time, or youth and children's Sunday School.
  • Everyone is welcome to the church picnic following the baptisms at the west beach of Lake Nokomis.
  • Families with last names beginning with A-P, bring a salad to share in a small cooler. Families with names R-Z, bring a dessert to share. Meat, beverage, and eating utensils are provided.
  • Everyone bring blankets or lawn chairs.
