October 31, 2004

Congratulations to Peter & Jessica McWilliams, proud parents of Ryan Matthew who was born on October 21st.

Congratulations to Mark & Kris Larson, proud parents of Rachel Mae who was born on October 25th. We praise the Lord that both families are doing well!

Please pray for the family of Dennis Schacht. Dennis went home to be with the Lord on October 28. His funeral was here at First Free on October 30.

Pastor Appreciation: Today we will be giving special appreciation to our Pastors Joel Sutton, Eric Twietmeyer, and Bob Chapman. If you have not yet written them a note of thanks, cards are still available on the table in the foyer.

All women are invited to Guild on Tuesday, November 2, 1:00 PM, at church. Our speaker will be Pastor Eric with an update on his mission trip to India.

You are invited to a Memorial Service for John Londborg's parents, Maynard & Loraine Londborg, on November 7, 3:00 PM at Bridgepointe Evangelical Covenant Church of Eagan, 4100 Lexington Way, Eagan.

Our next Quarterly Business Meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 8, at 7:00 PM.

Senior Singles will meet for lunch on Sunday, November 14, 12:30 PM, at Steak 'n Ale.

You are invited to a prayer service on the eve of the election at Knox Presbyterian Church, 6:00-7:00 PM, on Monday, November 1. This will be an ecumenical service.

Pastor Appreciation Sunday: On Sunday, October 31, we will be giving special appreciation to our pastors. Use the bulletin inserts to write a note of thanks, and place your completed cards in the boxes in the foyer.

All women are invited to Guild on Tuesday, November 2, 1:00 PM, at church. Our speaker will be Pastor Eric with an update on his mission trip to India.

Future Leaders of China are looking for American friends and are curious about our Savior. On Sunday, November 21, would you have a mainland Chinese student or family to your home for a meal and take them to a short outreach at the University of MN? For more information, contact Karen Beach with China Outreach Ministries at (651) 765-4534.

Two mission trips: Contact John Symington about the New Orleans mission trip, November 13-21. Also, we will be taking another group to the Dominican Republic the second full week in June, 2005. Ask God if YOU should go!

Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, October 31. Be sure to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night, or you'll arrive earlier than you need to.

* Third World Countries need Bibles and Christian literature. Do you have Christian magazines, Bibles, song books or children's Sunday school material around your home?
* If so, you can help by placing these materials in the collection box marked I.C.L.D. located in the church gym. When the box is full, we will deliver the material to I.C.L.D.


October 17, 2004

Our sympathies and prayers go out to Kay Dahlgren on the passing of her husband Verne last Thursday morning. The visitation will be at Albin Chapel in Eden Prairie on Monday, October 18 at 5-7 pm. The funeral will be on Tuesday the 19th at 1:30 with a reception following the burial at Lakewood cemetery.

Our sympathies also go out to Audrey Reinhold's family. Audrey passed away last Thursday. Her funeral was yesterday.

Interested in knowing more about First Free? Our CLASS 101 will be held tonight from 4:00-8:00 PM. A light supper and child care will be provided.

Senior Fellowship change of time - The Senior Fellowship potluck will be at 11:30 on Tuesday morning. Barb Hugo will speak about her ministry as a police chaplain. Bring a friend along.

Last chance to sign up for Fellowship Meals! Get to know some people in the church by having a meal in someone's home. Sign up on the form in the bulletin.

Be a Prayer Warrior! Learn to pray! Be challenged in prayer. Join our prayer team Wednesday nights from7-8 pm.

October 10, 2004

Grace Vandervort will be speaking during our Missions Spotlight. Grace retired from missionary work this year after 37 years of faithful service. She worked as a nurse in a government clinic in Djibouti, Africa, before retiring.

Missed getting your picture taken? There is still time - just call PCA at 1-866-802-4452. They will schedule you to have your picture taken next week (October 18-22) at Pilgrim Lutheran Church (3901 1st Avenue South). Your picture will then be included in our new pictorial directory. You can also send in a picture of yourself to the church along with a $5 check before October 29.

Senior singles will meet today in the gym and sit together at the Outreach Potluck.

Thank you very much for your prayers, your many cards, and words of encouragement following my heart surgery in July. I am thankful to be feeling well and gaining back my strength. God is so good. Love in Him, Beda Anderson.

Senior singles will not go out to a restaurant this month, but will meet and sit together at the Outreach Potluck on October 10.
