Sheila Decker will be sharing her faith story this morning. Sheila is married to Curt Decker, who is currently serving our country in Afghanistan. They have been attending First Free Church since July of 2002. They have two young daughters, Sara and Anna.

Did you know that October is Pastor Appreciation Month? Let's all take this opportunity to express our love and appreciation to our wonderful pastors! Jot down your words of thanks and put them in the boxes in the foyer.

The Purpose Driven Life book will be available at no cost to guests and those who did not receive a book last year. See Cindy Sawyer at the book table in the foyer for your copy.

The got purpose? invitations are still available for your use to invite friends and neighbors to the got purpose? campaign, October 19 to November 23.

Missed Banner Night? Banner Night II will be held on Thursday, November 6, at 6:00 PM. We are creating banners that express components of our Vision Statement! All materials, supper, and lots of laughter will be provided.

The Senior Fellowship will not meet in November. They will have a potluck dinner on Tuesday, December 9th. White Cross will not meet in December.

Needed: Tutors to assist graduate international students to write or edit papers. There will be training led by Sheryl Holt to help mentors to assist international students on November 8 from 9:00 AM - Noon at Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren Church at Cedar and 41st Street. Call Linda at (612) 722-0918 to register by November 1st. The cost is $25.

On Sunday, November 16, would you have a Chinese student or family to your home for a meal and take him or her to a short outreach at the U of M? For more information, contact Glenn Kenadjian - China Outreach at (612) 722-3657.

Missionary Prayer Focus

Roy & Sue Haglund - Mission Aviation Fellowship

  • They praise the Lord for the new Cessna 208 Caravan 10-seat turbo-prop aircraft that will be a great boost to the ministry in Papua, Indonesia.
  • One of the Caravan's recent tasks was flying thousands of the newly completed Dani Old Testaments to major interior villages in the Dani tribal region of Papua.

Barb Hugo will be sharing her faith story this morning. Barb is a lifetime member of First Free and is Co-chair of Agape ABF. She works part-time at GMAE and is a Minneapolis Police Department Chaplain. Barb has been married to Guy Hugo for 36 years. They have two grown sons, Terry and Todd, and two dogs, Ezra and Enoch. The Foundation Quartet will lead us in great gospel singing tonight at 6:00 PM. Enjoy a concert of beautiful, harmonious Southern Gospel Music. A freewill offering will be taken.

  • Jon is the International Focus Minister at CSF. He is currently involved with the International Family Ministry at Como Free Church and with a Japanese congregation just off the St. Paul campus.
  • Pray as Jon seeks to establish a relationship with the Japanese Student Association at the university.

Welcome to our missionary speakers this morning for Outreach Sunday. Look for our church brochure at the Information Center that outlines where some of your outreach giving goes. In order for your offering to be applied to missions, you must mark your offering envelope for either Outreach or Missions.

Invite your friends to the Mom's Media Exchange at church on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:00 PM. Sort through your no-longer-popular kid's videos, books, games, and music and bring them to church to exchange with other moms. Call Jill Rose at (612) 827-4402 if you would like to help.

Enjoy making things? On October 16 at 6:00 PM we will be holding a Banner Assembly Night. Sewing machines, supper, all materials, and laughter will all be provided!

Missionary Prayer Focus

Craig & Donna McClun, EFCM of Canada

  • Pray for Craig as he speaks at churches (October 17-20, at Bow Island EFC; October 24-26 in Alberta: Parkland District; and October 29-31, at Providence College Missions Conference). Pray for workers for the harvest, and that Craig will make contacts at churches and conferences.
  • Pray for continued business opportunities for Donna and for God's blessing upon their neighborhood prayer group.
