A Sojourners' Farewell Potluck for their teacher, Bill Anderson, is planned for today at Noon in the gym. If you forgot to bring something, please join us anyway.

All ladies welcome to Women's Guild Spring Luncheon, Tuesday, April 1st, at Noon. The guest speaker will be our own Jan Harthan, missionary to Mozambique. (Lunch will be furnished by Guild hostesses.)

You are invited to a Bridal Shower for Heather Hultstrand on April 6th, 4:00 PM, at the church. Heather is registered at J.C. Penny's, Marshall Fields, and Target. If you have any questions, please contact Deb Holman at (952) xxx-xxxx.

Heart of the City Worship Celebration set for Sunday, April 6th, 7:00 PM, at Crystal Free Church. Invite a friend and enjoy worshipping with believers from across the Twin Cities.

A work weekend at Camp Shamineau is April 11-13. There is work for every ability! Lodging and meals will be provided. An offering will be taken to offset expenses. Call John Symington (952) 835-1387 if you can help.

NCD Senior Spring Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 24, 9:00 AM, at Wayzata Free Church, 705 County Road 101, Plymouth, (763) 473-9463. The cost is $7 per person. Registration forms are available at the Information Booth. The registration deadline is April 11.

Missions Work Trip Opportunity, June 21-28. The church is sending a team to Kid's Alive orphanage in the Dominican Republic. We will be helping with construction and children's programs. Because of passports and tickets, you must respond quickly. Get an application at Information Booth.

  • Praise the Lord that things have been going well. The students finished their first session of ministry sites and are close to ending their first session of language school.
  • Pray for my parents and grandma as they fly home from a visit with me this past week. Pray for safety in travel.
  • Pray for my students as they are learning about cultural practices and traditions, that they may see and learn from them rather than be quick to judge. Pray for group unity and positive attitudes towards authority.

Thank you for your prayer support, encouragement, and love during the past six months while my mom was in hospice care. Your cards, memorials, and words of comfort will long be remembered. A special thanks to those who came to celebrate my mother's life. - Dee & David Huanca

  • Pray that many will come to know the love of Christ as a result of these ministries and for good follow up with the people after the teams have returned home.

We will be honoring Donna & Dan Larson during the fellowship time today. We thank them for their faithful service to our church. Donna has worked in the church office for two years and has now found a job as a Medical Coder at "The Doctors" Clinic. Dan worked as a church custodian for 1 ½ years. Thank you both so much!

We extend a warm welcome to our new members: Ardese Barrett, Robert Johnson, and Steve & Jill Rose.

Thanks to our newly elected Officers: Alan Peterson (Vice-Chair) and Mark Holman (Treasurer); and Council Members: Ben Cochenet, Don Erickson, Guy Hugo, and Mark Mellema.

We extend our condolences to Dee & David Huanca. Dee's mom went home to be with the Lord on March 10th. Her funeral was held at Milaca Free Church on March 15th.

  • Pray for Laura who has left for Piedras Negras, Mexico, on a mission trip, March 14-24. Pray for safety in travel during the long bus ride (25 hours).
  • Pray for the development of good friendships and prepare them to work as a ministry team. Pray also that they will use their talents for the Lord without fear and will reflect God's love.

The debut of the Fyrescape Café, a coffeehouse for students and young adults (ages 12 and up), will be Friday, March 14, 7:00-11:00 PM at First Free. Feature musicians include Noah, a rap artist, and Eric Twietmeyer, a funk artist.

Please remember to RSVP Sherie McClun if you can attend the Nurture Appreciation Lunch on Sunday, March 16th.

Katie Hucek - Short-term Mission Trip

Pray for Katie who will be leaving for Guatemala City, Guatemala, on a mission trip, March 13-23. She will be working with "Potter's House" an evangelical social outreach and church planting organization. Pray for safety and blessing on all aspects of this trip.




March 2, 2003

We extend our condolences to Bob Johnson, Audrey Johnson and Joey Sanchez. Joey's mom, Tawny, went home to be with the Lord on February 26. Her memorial service will be held at First Free in several weeks.

Interested in knowing more about First Free? Beginning today, a 4-week class, Exploring Church Membership, will be held at 11:00 AM in the Pastor's Study.

A Sojourners' Social begins at Noon today! Meet at the Minnesota History Center, right off I-94, at the Kellogg Blvd or Marion Street exit in St. Paul. We plan to eat lunch at the café there (or you can bring a bag lunch). Admission is free.

Women's Guild Special Project Meeting is set for Tuesday, March 4, at 1:00 PM. Herb Bloomquist will be sharing about beginning an English Language Camp in China. Pray and be prepared to give a pledge. Men are invited, too!

  • Pray for the 10 new believers, Bridget's well-being following surgery for tennis elbow, and for comfort following her mother's death.
  • Pray for Glenn's energy and spiritual focus and for the outreach and discipleship activities planned in the upcoming months.
