October 27, 2002

Alema Erickson will be sharing her testimony with us during the worship service this morning. She has been a Christian for 28 years and has been attending First Free for six months. She is married to Mark Erickson, and they have three children, Elijah, 8 years, Zachary, 18 months, and Gavin, 2 months. Alema is a Behavior Analyst for the State of Minnesota.

Congratulations to Theresa Goodman and Dan Hebert who were married at First Free Church on October 12th. Their new address is 1411 8th Ave. NW, Rochester, MN 55901.

A Bridal Shower will be held for Susan Mondy on Sunday, November 10th, at 3:00 PM. Susan is registered at Marshal Fields, Crate & Barrel, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and at Sears.

You are invited to an open house for Jim & Patty Rodine's 50th Wedding Anniversary. It will be held on Sunday, November 10th, at Lakewood Free Church, 2600 East County Road E., White Bear Lake, from 2:00-5:00 PM. Your presence would be a gift.

Choir Rehearsal, Tuesday, October 29, 6:45-8:00 PM. Rehearsals will be weekly until the concert on Sunday, December 15. Please arrive at 6:45 and be ready for warm-ups by 6:50 PM. Worship Ensemble will meet from 8:15-9:00 on Tuesday evenings.

Guild and all ladies welcome! On Tuesday, November 5, at 1:00 PM, come and hear Melinda Ludwiczak from the Skyway Senior Center share a one-hour program called, "Memory Magic."

Elections are coming, please be in prayer for God to put into place people who will lead us in integrity and godliness. Voter guides are available at www.mnvoter.com for each zip code.

A Prayer Meeting in preparation for the November 5th elections will be held on Monday, November 4, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Come for the entire time or only a portion. Our own Joy Fleming will be leading this event located at Ridgewood Church in their Fireside Room. Call Ridgewood at (952) 474-0858 for directions.

Julie Danielson will be sharing her testimony with us during the worship service this morning. Many know that Julie has a special heart for worship. She has been a believer for nine years and has been attending our church for 8 ½ years. She grew up on a farm near Langdon, ND. She is married to Wayne Danielson and works as a Controller for Frandsen Financial.

Calling all orchestra instrumentalists! You are invited to rehearse with us next Saturday, October 26, at 10:00 AM in preparation for playing on Sunday, October 27. Music may be checked out from the crate under the front pew. For more information, contact Eric Twietmeyer through the church office.

Choir Rehearsal will begin Tuesday, October 22, 7:00-8:00 PM. Rehearsals will be weekly until the final production on Sunday, December 15. Please arrive at 6:45 and be ready to sing by 7:00. Worship Ensemble will meet from 8:15-9:00 Tuesday evenings.

The Dinner & a Movie Outreach will be held Monday, October 21, at 5:45 PM. One or two volunteers are needed the day of the event for a few hours between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and several more are needed to help with clean up. Contact: Rose Hecker.

We're off and running with the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign! Memorize your verse this week, start in a Purpose-Driven Life Sunday School Class, and read the first seven daily readings in The Purpose Driven Life book. Then next week come back to hear about the first purpose, and perhaps the most revolutionary one, Worship. Worship may be the most misunderstood word in the Church. Come next week to hear what God has to say on this!

The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is scheduled for Sunday, November 10th. If you would like more information on how to pray or ideas on how you can help, check out this new website, www.dayofprayer.net.

Mark & Alema Erickson would like to thank everyone who has supported them in prayer and friendship, especially while Alema was hospitalized prior to Gavin's birth. The cake during the fellowship time is an expression of their appreciation.

Kids Fall/Winter Clothing Collection to benefit Salem Free Church store for the needy. If you can donate clean, seasonal children's clothing in good shape (any sizes), please drop in boxes outside the Children's Church room. Call Jill Rose with questions.

Youth Group will continue to meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM through October 16th. After that, a final decision will be made on the day they will meet. Pastor Eric would like to devote adequate time to both the youth and music ministries.
