September 29, 2002

An open house bridal shower will be held for Theresa Goodman on Monday, September 30th, 7:00-9:00 PM at the church. Theresa is registered at Target and Herbergers. If you have questions, call Karin Olson at (612) 824-7691.

All Ladies are welcome to Women's Guild, Tuesday, October 1st at 1:00 PM. Liz Spellman from Brazil will be speaking.

Sojourners Social: Are you looking for a Sunday class? We might be the fun, exciting baby-boomers' class you've been looking for. Come join us at 6:00 PM, Saturday, October 5th at Buca Di Beppo in St. Paul, 27 Gannon Road, (651) 722-4388. If you have questions, call Lori Peterson at (612) 722-9793.

The Dinner & a Movie Outreach will be held Monday, October 21, at 5:45 PM. One or two volunteers are needed the day of the event for a few hours between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and several more are needed to help with clean up. Contact: Rose Hecker.

Anyone interested in small groups? Beginning October 6th a Small Group Study will meet Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM. We plan to study the 40 Days of Purpose material. If you are interested in connecting with a small group, call Cindy Sawyer.

Kids Fall/Winter Clothing Collection to benefit Salem Free Church store for the needy. If you can donate clean, seasonal children's clothing in good shape (any sizes), please drop in boxes outside the Children's Church room. Call Jill Rose with questions.

Fall Fling for Jr. & Sr. High Youth is coming up October 18-20 at Camp Shamineau. The cost is $81. Contact Eric Twietmeyer TODAY if you plan to go.

A Vacuum Cleaner, iron, and twin sheet sets are needed for the small house across the street. Call Bob or Paulette Goodman at (952) 435-6007 if you can help.

Another Outreach Weekend is just around the corner! It begins with an Outreach Breakfast on Saturday, October 5, at 8:30 AM. Hear from a panel of speakers including Felix Juarez, Spanish Sunday School, Becky Fernandez, Spanish Bible Study, and several others. On Sunday, Chuck Steen with the Navigators will be preaching. Sunday School speakers include: Chuck Steen with Adults and Stacy Olson & Becky Juarez with Youth Group.

On September 22nd Stacy Olson will speak to the combined Sunday school classes of Agape, Fidelis, and Marantha (in the Fidelis room #2) on her mission experience in Hong Kong.

A Chaim Class Social is scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 6:00 PM at church. Come for volleyball and pizza (cost $6 each). Please RSVP to Vanessa Beckett at (612) 721-6885 or 436-2107.

Interested in knowing more about First Free? Beginning today, a 4-week class, Exploring Church Membership, will begin at 11:00 AM. Tell Pastor Joel today if you are interested.

Dinner & a Movie will be back for an encore on Monday, September 16, at 5:45 PM. Everyone bring your family and friends, because the major focus of this is OUTREACH! Volunteers are also needed for set up and clean up duties. If you can help, contact Al or Rose Hecker at (612) 729-9053.

  • What will we do? Wash Windows, Dust, Rake out Landscaping, Put Down Fresh Wood Chips, Sweep Parking Lots, and More!
  • We also need volunteers to brew coffee and serve treats. Treats will be served at 10:00 AM.
