ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING STAFF CHANGES

Michelle Casper will be leaving her present job at First EFC as of February 1st.

Michelle writes:

I would like to thank the congregation for giving me the opportunity to serve our church over the last year. I thank the good Lord for His calling me here, and for the abilities He provided me to help our church during a time of substantial change.

After much consideration, I have decided it is now time to move into a job that is more compatible with my long-term professional goals. I praise God for providing me a new job opening, and I praise Him for Cindy who is ready to transition into a new office position.

Michelle has been a great help in so many ways while we have been without a Senior Pastor. We say a big "Thank You," Michelle, for all the varied things you have done to help us get better organized here at First EFC! We are glad that Jeff and Michelle are continuing to worship with us in our fellowship.

We are happy to announce that Cindy Sawyer will begin working full-time on February 1st as Church Administrative Assistant. She will be in charge of office affairs here at First EFC.

In the past several years Cindy has done a super job in publishing the Sunday Bulletins, the mid-week Prayer Guides and other printed pieces in addition to varied office duties. We say a big "Thank You," Cindy! We are grateful that Cindy is willing to take on additional duties and to serve in an enlarged capacity here in our congregation at this time.

Concert of Prayer

Over the course of the last 9 months I have been impressed with the fact that the people at First Free are really united in one thing.  At this point in our history, we are all concerned that our church moves forward and we see God's hand of blessing in our midst. The new pastor stands out as a major factor in our future.

What can we do to see that accomplished?  Judges 20 seems to give us an answer. "And all Israel…came out as one man and assembled before the Lord…."  The Prayer Committee has struggled with what God would have us do to unite in prayer as a congregation.  The heart of our unity is God and our seeking Him and His will.  To this point, except in our morning worship when prayer time is very limited, there is no time to pray together as one heart and one people.

Praise God there is an answer.  The Worship Commission has taken the initiative, with the help of the Planters, to set up another Concert of Prayer in March.

Please put Sunday night, March 18,

6:00 PM, on your calendars.

This will be a wonderful time to come together to seek God's face IN UNITY.  God revels in such unity, and our prayers, prayed during a special time of seeking God's face together,                 would open the way for God to do His work and will in our midst.

Would you like to see God do a new work in our church?  This will be a step in that direction - if we as one people come before Him.  May that evening not be just a fraction of our people - but a majority.  "If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray.…"  "And all Israel...came out as one man and assembled before the Lord.…"

A Thought From God's Word:
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. [Colossians 3:1-2]
