Biography/Description of Ministry
Dan Reeve began as City Service Mission's third president in September of 2008. Before coming to CSM, Dan served seventeen years as Urban Mission Director for the Evangelical Free Church Urban -Intercultural Mission. Dan's passion for often-forgotten people in urban America was born from his own experiences growing up on the streets of New York City and having his life transformed by a small urban Church that adopted him. Dan has a Bachelor's degree in Religious Education from Washington Bible College in Lanham, MD and an M-Div. Degree in Urban Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He has served inner-city congregations in Brooklyn, NY, Chicago, IL, and Minneapolis, MN. He has also served as adjunct faculty at Northwestern College in Roseville, MN and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.
Dan is driven by the conviction that the greatest needs of all urban and ethnic Americans is the people of God building relationships, empowering people, becoming incarnate in the lives of often forgotten people in a holistic way. He believes that it is this present generation that can bring transformation to at risk communities. This conviction also drives Dan to spend many hours in the urban "trenches" sharing his faith on the streets and mentoring inner-city youth.
If you ask him what he likes to do for fun he'll tell you it depends on his mood. He can be found making furniture in his wood shop, sailing on a lake, hiking in the hills or gabbing away about missions to anyone who listens. Dan and his wife Kimberly live in Brooklyn, NY. Dan has three daughters - Rebecca, Bethany and Christine, two son-in-laws Tom and Jesus and yes, he's a grandfather to grandson Manuel.
Please email Dan if you want to get his prayer letter and other information.
