Junior Church

A hike?  Well, an indoor one, anyway.

Junior Church and Junior Church alumni are invited to a Mid Winter Hike at the Science Museum in St. Paul on Saturday, January 13, 2001.

We will meet at First Free Church, 5150 Chicago Avenue South, inside the north door (the gymnasium end of the building) at 12:30 pm and will take the van and/or other vehicles to the Museum.

The cost will be significant, unfortunately.  For Those 12 and under, it will be $8.00 admission ($7.00 if we have a group of 15 or more.)  For those over 12, it will be $11.00 (or $10.00 group rate.)   We will not charge for transportation  or pictures.

If some of you have family memberships, have your offspring bring along the
membership card for a break on the admission to the exhibits and movie.

We will start bringing the kids home between 6:00 and 7:00 pm.  We plan to see the Omnitheater showing of "Wolves."

Be sure they eat lunch before arriving and bring money if they want to buy snacks or souvenirs.  There are snack bars and restaurants in the Museum for those who need to graze.  It is permissible to carry snacks discretely in the Museum.  We WILL NOT be serving a meal as is the case for our spring and fall hikes.  (For one thing, there is no end point to the amount of food that can be eaten by young teens.)

In addition to getting a chance to have a reunion of some of the recent graduates
of Junior Church, we hope to have a chance to interact with the science exhibits
and detect where reporting of facts leaves off and where indoctrination in evolution begins.

Kids, start getting your nonsense antennas calibrated and see if you can see any signs of brainwashing in the tax-supported institution that is called the Science Museum.

Is the fellow at the left really Prehistoric?  If so, what is Job chapters 40 and 41 talking about and what were the dragons that cultures around the world tell about?

If you have questions, call Ross Olson at 612-824-7691.  Other adults coming along will be Mary Anderson and  Marcia and Dave Hibst.  If other parents wish to come, the door is open.

A Thought From God's Word:
Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. [Zechariah 9:9]
